Friday May 9, 2008 - 8:45am Update

The showers that passed through Pagosa yesterday didn’t amount to much here at PagosaCam headquarters. Along with a couple of claps of thunder we received .01” of rain mixed with a few ice pellets. Just enough to get the cars dirty. And now our rain chances are diminishing for the next few days. Another Pacific trough is moving across northern Utah this morning and will push into northeastern Colorado later today. This will keep rain and snow chances in the forecast for the northern and central mountains, but more than likely won’t bring much if any precipitation this far south. We’ll keep that slight chance for an isolated mountain shower in the forecast for the higher elevations. We’ll warm into the upper 60’s this afternoon with a SW wind picking up this afternoon 15 to 20 mph. We’ll cool tonight into the mid 20’s. More of the same for tomorrow with a high in the mid 60’s and a SE wind 5 to 15 mph that will swing around to the NW in the afternoon. Mother’s Day is looking rather nice with continued partly cloudy conditions and a high in the upper 60’s to around 70. The winds will continue out of the SW 10 to 15 mph. Monday will be a repeat of Sunday with our high back up around 70. And it will be (act surprised) breezy on Monday as well ahead of the next trough that will approach southwest Colorado on Monday bringing our next chance for a few showers or t-storms Monday night into Tuesday. The precipitation chances will stick around maybe into Wednesday. Our highs will range from the mid 60’s on Wednesday to near 70 by Friday. And it still looks like a large high pressure ridge will move in late next week drying us out (even more) and warming us up. In the meantime, enjoy your Friday!
